America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook giveaway!

ATK Healthy Family Cookbook

I’ve been enjoying my copy of The America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen, but I don’t want to keep it all to myself – so I’m giving away a copy! To make things even sweeter, this book has been signed by Chris Kimball! I wish I could say that I had one for everyone, but I have only one copy to give away to a lucky reader. To read a full review of the book, check out this post.

To enter the contest, leave a comment with your favorite America’s Test Kitchen recipe – whether it was from Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country or one of their many cookbooks – below. If you can’t choose just one, you can always try making the Everyday Cinnamon Rolls, which just might be an instant favorite as a lighter, healthier version of gooey cinnamon rolls! The contest ends tonight at midnight and the winner will be randomly selected from the entries. Don’t forget to fill in your e-mail on the comment form (it will not be public), as that is how I will contact the winner, and good luck!

Update: Comments are closed. Thanks for participating, everyone! Congrats to Debby of A Feast for the Eyes, who was chosen as the winner!

Do they have any bad recipes? I’m torn between the
Pumpkin Cheesecake w/Bourbon Cream and the Multigrain bread (1.5x in a salmon poaching pan => bread for 2wks)
I think i’d go into withdrawal without my cooksillustrated online subscription!

I have never seen this book in person, so I cannot pick a favorite. But, I would definitely make the Everyday Cinnamon Rolls. We like cinnamon rolls every once in a while, and a lighter version would definitely be welcome.

I made the cream biscuits for breakfast! I’ve got my dough rising for the almost no knead bread! I love the ATK books and just picked up a copy of the Healthy cookbook from the library and I can’t wait to cook up recipes from this book and I would LOVE to have it!

    Lentil Soup!!!
My mother use to cook this and I could not stand it! I would try to eat with friends whenever I knew she was preparing this soup.
When my husband of 29 years had dental surgery last year I ask him what he would like to eat and his answer was: lentil soup! I could not believe this and he changed his mind because I told him my lovestory with lentil soup again – but Cooks Illustrated came to the rescue and I actually love this soup now and my husband was happy!

My favorite ATK recipe is Baked Chicken Breasts with Parmesan-Garlic crust from their Fast & Fresh Recipe Card book. I actually have dozens of ATK favorites, but the phrase “Parmesan-garlic chicken” always brings a grin to my husband’s face, and though it’s quick-and-easy I’ve made it for (thrilled!) guests many times – especially those who visit on weeknights. It’s definitely one of the most-used recipes in my book of favorites!

I don’t have a favorite because there are so many I like. I watch all the shows, ATK and Cook’s Country, have all the DVDs, magazines, and most of the books which I started collecting a few years back (trying to get all of them).

My favorite recipe has to be my first. It cemented Cook’s Illustrated as the King of all cookbooks with that first recipe. It was Wiener Schnitzel. I had tried it several times with varying degrees of success, but this recipe allowed me to turn out a PERFECT dish, with the crispy fried coating pocketing perfectly from the meat (I may need to go make it now). Since then I’ve bought The New Recipe Cookbook and The Best 30-Minute Recipe Cookbook. Simply put, there are no better cookbooks out there.

Hmmm…okay, I’ll go with the Beef Stroganoff – easy, pretty quick (45min) and sure to please ANYONE! My husband dipped our toes in vegetarianism and made this with just mushrooms and it was delightful!
