America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook giveaway!

ATK Healthy Family Cookbook

I’ve been enjoying my copy of The America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen, but I don’t want to keep it all to myself – so I’m giving away a copy! To make things even sweeter, this book has been signed by Chris Kimball! I wish I could say that I had one for everyone, but I have only one copy to give away to a lucky reader. To read a full review of the book, check out this post.

To enter the contest, leave a comment with your favorite America’s Test Kitchen recipe – whether it was from Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country or one of their many cookbooks – below. If you can’t choose just one, you can always try making the Everyday Cinnamon Rolls, which just might be an instant favorite as a lighter, healthier version of gooey cinnamon rolls! The contest ends tonight at midnight and the winner will be randomly selected from the entries. Don’t forget to fill in your e-mail on the comment form (it will not be public), as that is how I will contact the winner, and good luck!

Update: Comments are closed. Thanks for participating, everyone! Congrats to Debby of A Feast for the Eyes, who was chosen as the winner!

Their chewy, fudgy brownies are simply perfect. My family craves them-three kinds of chocolate, super moist and rich, we can’t resist! We’re thinking of adding some VIA or other instant coffee to see what happens!

I’m gonna go with one of their potato salad recipes. It’s actually my daughter’s favorite, but she won’t eat anything else now! Ranch Potato Salad or nothing for her! (It is good, and I get rave reviews whenever I make it!)

I love your take on Macaroni and Cheese. I have the complete dvd collection and many of the bound issues. You have replaced Betty Crocker in my kitchen! (Although my wife still uses her onion ring recipe!)
I am blind so I appreciate the care you take in describing your recipes on air. My wife helps by looking up the recipes I want and reading them to me. We work as a team to prepare meals. I love to cook! Thank you for taking the time to develop easy recipes for everyday use.

Love most of the recipes I’ve tried. My all-time favorite is the Glazed Grill-Roasted Chicken, published in Cook’s Country, June/July 2008. There were several glaze variations; the one I LOVE is the Brown Sugar-Balsamic Glaze.

I love the pie crust recipe…so simple and so tasty. I made a batch to “cook” with my children. We dug out the cookie cutters and roller and played around. There aren’t raw eggs in the dough so if we happen to sneak a piece we had no worries.

I have to tell Mr. Kimball that after I received the red-covered version of the ATK Family cookbook as a gift, I began to cook from it.
EVERY single recipe I have followed has resulted in luscious results! Most recently the Chicken pot-pie was a great success. As an Italian American, I also appreciate the simply and delicious Chicken Parmesan from that same book. LOVE it and thanks for the opportunity.

I’m such a big fan of CI that it’s hard to pick which of the MANY recipes I’ve made that I like best. I like their reduced-fat German Chocolate Cake recipe a LOT. As of late, I’m smitten with their Tandoori Chicken. Thanks for the shout out for their lighter everyday cinnamon rolls. CI has yet to fail me with their recipe makeovers to reduce fat but not flavor. Can you tell I’m a fan?

I literally just asked the question “what is everyone’s favorite ATC recipe,” on the ATF facebook page two days ago so this blog is a goldmine! I feel like a winner for this already! Last night I made the first suggestion, which was manicotti, so as of now that is my favorite recipe! ☺

The first issue of Country Cook’s has the best brownie recipe with variations. All of the ingredients are usually in my pantry and they are my go-to recipe for when I suddenly realize I need to bring something. They never fail to impress my guests who mistakenly think I labored away to produce such chocolatey goodness.

That’s a tough question…so hard to narrow it down to one. I love their light brownies. They don’t taste light at all – they’re the perfect chewy brownie, and it’s better than all the full fat varieties I’ve tried.

I’m a big fan of ATK’s tv show. I had learn many tips from them to solve my problems in baking. From the few recipes I get the chance to try, it was the Deep dish apple pie. It turned out so good, the crust was very flaky and buttery and the apples were perfectly cooked (My family always complaint that my pie don’t had enough had enough apple inside). I’ve tried making several apple pies and this was by far the best of the bunch. This is the one my family ask from now on.
