Baking Bites’ Best Gifts for Bakers

Great gifts for bakers and foodies

The holidays are a time of good spirits, great food and wonderful gifts. The gifts aren’t a requirement, of course, but there is a lot of satisfaction in seeing the look on the face of a loved one when they open up that package and smile with joy. And the shopping itself can be fun, too. Since we’re baking oriented at Baking Bites, here are some great gift suggestions for the baker in your life.

Bakers tend to like to share their creations, so a new cupcake carrier can actually be the perfect gift. They enable you to store baked goods in an airtight container, keeping them fresh, and they make it easy to transport goodies from place to place. A Collapsible Cupcake Carrier is not only a great carrier, but it doesn’t take up much storage space when it is not in use.

The Cooknook Cookbook Holder is something both bakers and cooks can appreciate. This holder mounts under a counter so that you can have your recipes at eye level. It also has a magnetic board to which you can attach recipe cards, notes or printouts from your favorite blogs. Like the cupcake carrier, it also collapses when not in use so it doesn’t take up much space.

If your baker is also a food blogger, then they probably have an eye for photography as well as for baking. The Food Stylist’s Handbook is a great resource, as well as an interesting read in general. It is sure to inspire bloggers to get their cameras out. And The Camera Lens Mug is just as good of a gift for the foodie photographer. The mug looks and feels like a real dSLR camera lens!

If you want to indulge your baker, a new stand mixer is the way to go. This year, I like the Breville Stand Mixer. It is sleek looking, very well put together and strong enough to handle everything from kneading bread dough to whipping up egg whites for an angel food cake. It also comes with more standard attachments than most mixers do. If you want to accessorize an existing stand mixer, pick up a Beater Blade, which will scrape down the sides of a stand mixer bowl as it works (the Breville mixer includes an attachment like this one).

You can’t go wrong with a cookbook. If you can, try to sneak in and see what books your giftee already has so you don’t get them something the already have. The Baking Bites Cookbook is full of great recipes of all kinds, from cookies to cakes to pies, and makes a great gift. Cake Wrecks isn’t a cookbook, but it is a fun baking-related read. The book features dozens of cakes from the ever-popular Cake Wrecks website.

When you just want a stocking stuffer, think small. A jar of Trader Joe’s Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce is a gift that is both delicious and inexpensive. Get one for yourself while you’re out. Rodelle’s Vanilla Extracts are bursting with smooth vanilla flavor and, not only will they be appreciated by your baker, but they’ll result in even better tasting goodies than usual! If you’re thinking even smaller, a cute little Cupcake Corer will enable your baker to turn any cupcake into a cream filled one with almost no effort, and Cupcake Key Caps are simply a neat little accessory that let you take cupcakes with you anytime.

All great suggestions. I have the cupcake carrier and love it. It’s so much easier than the bulkier ones to carry and store. I bought the camera mug after seeing it on Baking Bites. Hopefully my photographer nephew is enjoying it.

I love that food stylist cookbook. I am always looking for tips and tricks to improve my pictures. Great suggestions, I could even use this list for my newly inspired younger sister who decided to start baking for herself.

If I were suggesting a great gift for a baker I would recommend an ipad with a protective cover. Not only can I access recipes on the internet without wasting paper by printing them out, I can listen to music, watch or listen to anything on the internet and check e-mail. It is a great time- saver. I love my ipad in the kitchen!
