I look forward to the holiday baking season every year. Even though I bake all year round, there are some holiday flavors – like peppermint mocha and eggnog – that I just love and only get to enjoy around the holidays! Whether you bake every day or only around the holidays, it is important to have your pantry well-stocked for the season and a Holiday Spice Baking Gift Pack from Rodelle is just what you need to get through all the baking you have to do for the rest of the season. The set includes Rodelle’s wonderful Wassail Mix, as well as pure vanilla extracts, cocoa powder and the biggest, most impressive cinnamon sticks you’ve ever seen. The cinnamon can be freshly ground using a microplane to add a potent cinnamon flavor to your baked goods or you can use them to garnish a punch bowl filled with homemade spiced cider or mulled wine, made using the wassail mix.
To enter the contest, just leave a comment on this post and tell me what your favorite thing to bake during the holidays  is. Do you stick with classic sugar cookies or go all-out with an elaborately decorated yule log? The contest ends Friday at midnight (12/11/2014) and one winner will be randomly selected from the entries. Don’t forget to fill in your e-mail on the comment form (it will not be made public), as that is how I will contact the winner, and good luck!

December 8, 2015So hard to narrow it down. Gingersnaps have to be one of my favorite. They are good all year round but the holiday season seems to scream ginger and spices. I’d say gingerbread or gingersnap cookies would be one of my favorites.

December 9, 2015my go to cookie recipe is always chocolate chip so when i bake this christmas, i will definitely be making those (although i have been experimenting with some FLOURLESS chocolate chip cookies — made with nut butter — that have been crazy good). and another holiday staple i love to make this time of year, while not “baking” is the ever so popular oreo truffles. 😀 but i use vanilla in so many things. and i’ve never had actual cinnamon sticks before! i’d love to try them out in things, even a stovetop potpourri. those always look so cool! (sorry for the semi-novel hah)
