America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook giveaway!

ATK Healthy Family Cookbook

I’ve been enjoying my copy of The America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen, but I don’t want to keep it all to myself – so I’m giving away a copy! To make things even sweeter, this book has been signed by Chris Kimball! I wish I could say that I had one for everyone, but I have only one copy to give away to a lucky reader. To read a full review of the book, check out this post.

To enter the contest, leave a comment with your favorite America’s Test Kitchen recipe – whether it was from Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country or one of their many cookbooks – below. If you can’t choose just one, you can always try making the Everyday Cinnamon Rolls, which just might be an instant favorite as a lighter, healthier version of gooey cinnamon rolls! The contest ends tonight at midnight and the winner will be randomly selected from the entries. Don’t forget to fill in your e-mail on the comment form (it will not be public), as that is how I will contact the winner, and good luck!

Update: Comments are closed. Thanks for participating, everyone! Congrats to Debby of A Feast for the Eyes, who was chosen as the winner!

By far my favorite ATK recipe (and my family’s too) is their skillet lasagna. Ever since I started making it, my wife no longer buys the frozen lasagna in the supermarket for a quick weeknight dinner, because I can make a better tasting lasagna in the same amount of time! But even more important, having their cookbook, their magazine and watching their TV show has given me the confidence to try dishes that I never would have thought to try in the past. My wife loves it too, because those are meals that she doesn’t have to cook!

The individual molten chocolate cakes from Cook’s Illustrated are amazing! The best part is that you can make them ahead and bake when you need them…they are soooo good right out of the oven with vanilla ice cream!

I love their beef chili recipe. Of course, I make it vegetarian with quorn, but it’s a fantastic recipe. My vegetarian chili always disappears first, even with a crowd of die-hard carnivores.

This is great! I just made the thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies last evening for my college daughter and her friends to bring back to school with them today. It is my all time “go to” recipe for chocolate chip cookies. People think I am a genius! I will always be thankful for that one 🙂

A new subscriber to CI, we have added SO many of their recipes to our family staples. Our faves: Buttermilk waffles (May/June 10), Red Beans & Rice (Jan/Feb 10), & Quick Tomato Sauce (May/Jun 09) (I quadruple this one and freeze!).

I am not sure if it’s in their cook books, but I remember watching it on their show years ago…how to boil an egg. When I first saw the intro, I snickered a little thinking everyone knew how to boil an egg. Theirs was superb and I now can boil the perfect egg!
