State of Great Taste Contest: Vote for Baking Bites’ New Ice Cream flavor!

Posted on

It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to come up with your own ice cream flavor – let alone asked to create an ice cream flavor that represents your state that might turn into a nationally available product. Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to get together with a group of other great bloggers and have a friendly contest to see who could create the next great flavor of Private Selection ice cream (the premium house brand for Kroger and its affiliates). Above, you can see a video of the event and how we put together our recipes. Working in the kitchen was a lot of fun – but eating our ice cream creations at the end of the day was even more fun.

We narrowed it down to ten different flavors and now it is your turn to vote on the next Private Selection flavor in the State of Great Taste contest. The State of Great Taste describes a series of limited edition ice creams that will be coming out representing different states. This year’s flavor is Michigan Cherry Cobbler, and the winner of this contest will be released nationwide next year.

To vote, visit The State of Great Taste Facebook page. You can read about all the ice cream flavors that we came up with – including my California-inspired ice cream flavor, Apricot & Dulce de Leche Swirl (pictured below) – and cast a vote for your favorite. Not that I am biased, but I can assure you that my flavor is absolutely delicious and well worth a vote! You can vote once a day through September 17, 2013, and then the results will be tallied to determine the winning flavor.
