My favorite would be your dark chocolate blondies but with tart dried cherries instead of the cranberries.

I’m boring – my favorite is dark chocolate with walnuts. If I’m feeling daring I’ll drop in a handful of chocolate chips.
    More chocolate never hurts!

I just recently figured out that you can make brownies at home and they don’t have to come out of a box, so I would have to say the basic (homemade) fudgy brownie with chocolate chips mixed in is my favorite.

I’m a little bit of a brownie purist – no nuts or chocolate chips or bits of anything are welcome in my perfect brownie. That said, I do love cream cheese brownies (ironic since I’m not a fan of cheese cake itself).

And I like them at room temp, many hours after being baked. Something about the warm, freshly baked intense chocolate makes me suddenly very sensitive to the theobromine and my heart races and I get all jittery. no fun. But when they’ve cooled off, I could eat the whole panful and be fine! So weird! (it happens with chocolate chip cookies too, and that’s not a significant amount of chocolate!)

I am tempted by the Dulce du Leche brownies though…

I love my brownies mostly unadulterated. Walnuts only. No extra chocolate chips, M&M’s, etc. And definitely NO cheesecake in it! I do, however, make many varieties for other people. I could eat an entire batch all by myself, starting with the batter. :p

I made semi-sweet brownies tonight from the second Gourmet cookbook (the one that came out just as the magazine folded). They are good, but not amazing. I fear my own perfect brownie is a figment of my imagination that I continue to search for as I try one recipe after the other pursuing chocolate and chewy perfection. I am clear on the fact, however, that the ideal brownie does not include nuts!
