Mini Spiders and Webs Cake Pan

You might have heard the “fact” that states the average person swallows up to eight spiders per year in his or her sleep. Fortunately, this “fact” is really a fiction. I know that the only spiders I want to swallow are those made with Wilton’s Mini Spiders and Webs Cake Pan. These spiders are cute as can be, with their friendly smiles and big, happy eyes. Their webs are equally as appealing. I like their slightly whimsical shape and the detailing of the web on top of the cake is lovely. It’s a great non-spooky pan for Halloween, and these shapes would be a big hit with little kids – especially if you let them decorate the cakes themselves.

The pan is made from purple silicone, and as with most silicone pans, the shapes should pop right out easily after baking. Make sure to tap the pan firmly on a counter before sliding them into the oven to knock out any air bubbles that might interfere with the designs on the cakes. You might not need any icing to show off the designs, but you can always run over their outlines with some icing to brighten them up.
