I love a loaf of homemade bread, but like so many other people, I don’t always plan my bread baking far enough in advance. While most bread recipes to have a lot of “hands off” time while you wait for the dough to proof, they still require quite a bit of preparation if you want to have them ready by dinner time. As a result, I am a huge fan of no knead breads that can be made quickly and easily, but are just as delicious as their slow-rising counterparts. I’m sharing the recipe for this excellent Peasant Bread over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!!). The bread can be made from start finish in less than two hours and does not require any kneading. In fact, you don’t even need any special equipment to make it.
The finished loaf is a tasty white bread that can be paired with a wide variety of dishes, from breakfast to dinner. Use it to sop up chili, to make garlic bread or to simply slather with butter and jam. It also toasts well, if you prefer your bread that way. Give it a try ASAP!!
