Bring some extra color into your 4th of July entertaining by preparing these stunning red, white and blue cocktails for your party guests. These cocktail recipes are featured in a post on Colorful 4th of July Cocktails over at the Craftsy blog (it’s free!). The cocktails are all tropical drinks with a rum base, a nod to my love of tiki drinks, and the fact that drinks with a tropical flair are always delicious on warm summer days. Each one will make you feel like you’re on vacation, and seeing all three together will put you in the mood to watch fireworks!
I recommend picking up the ingredients for all three of these cocktails – the Hurricane (red), the Blue Hawaii (blue) and Coconut Milk Punch (white) – before your party. It has been my experience that guests will want to taste all three colors before choosing their favorite, and a colorful, well-stocked bar is always a good party-starter. If you want to add another option to your drink menu, try my Red, White and Blue Sangria, which features a white wine base and is loaded with fresh berries. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy of my book, Tiki Drinks: Tropical Cocktails for the Modern Bar, and have a whole library of delicious tropical drinks at your fingertips!
