Wilton’s Coil Cakes Mini Cake Pan doesn’t look like anything special at first glance. It’s a nonstick pan with six shallow, rectangular cavities on it and it isn’t immediately obvious as to what the pan can be used to make. This pan is something special, however, because it is the perfect size for making single serving rolled snack cakes, like homemade Swiss Rolls or Yodels. Each cavity is like a very small jelly roll pan, perfect for baking thin, flexible cakes. The cakes bake quickly and can be rolled up into a spiral while they’re still warm to set the shape before you fill it with the frosting of your choice. The coil cakes are much easier to make than you might think, especially once you have a pan like this one that does all of the sizing for you. All you need to do is pair your favorite flavors together and watch the compliments roll in as you serve your delicious, homemade snack cakes to friends and family.
For another serving option, you can also stack these little cakes together to make single serving layer cakes for one or two people. A small cake looks and tastes just as delicious as a large cake, but is idea when you don’t have too many people to eat it and don’t want a lot of leftovers to go to waste.
