- The Bacon and Cheese Pull Aparts that Macheesmo recently baked look like something that is perfect for savory snacking. It’s a yeast bread that is composed of many individual layers – all put together with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon and chives. To eat it, you simply pull the layers apart with your fingers. It’s a fun loaf to share and probably the kind of snack that would make a great addition to a lazy weekend afternoon of watching movies or sports.
- I tend to think that you can enjoy breakfast at any time of the day, and will sometimes make things like pancakes and waffles for dinner. I don’t usually have breakfast for dessert, however, but that is exactly what With Sprinkles on Top did with these French Toast and Bacon Cupcakes. The cupcakes are flavored with cinnamon and maple, and they have little pieces of crispy bacon baked right in. Savory, salty bacon always goes well with maple syrup, so the combination actually works in these cupcakes, too. They’re topped with maple buttercream and a generous piece of bacon.
- Sweet coconut and tangy passionfruit is a great combination in just about any dessert, and these Coconut and Passionfruit Thumbprints from Technicolor Kitchen are no exception. The buttery, tender cookies are made with shredded coconut and a hint of vanilla. A small indent – or thumbprint – is made in the top of each cookie before baking and filled with passionfruit jam, which bakes up to add a beautiful golden accent to the cookies with a burst of sweet-tart flavor. You can also easily adapt this recipe to work with other flavors of jam.
- Gimme some Oven baked some Oreo-Doodles that should be a hit with any chocolate lover. These rich chocolate sugar cookies have a lot of flavor, both from cocoa powder and from melted chocolate in the dough. They’re also packed with semisweet chocolate chips before being rolled in crushed Oreo cookie crumbs for a finishing touch of chocolate flavor. They’re like an all-chocolate version of a snickerdoodle – hence the adorable name of these tasty cookies.
