Wilton Dimensions Tulip Pan

Wilton Dimensions Tulip Pan

Spring is in the air – and possibly in the kitchen if you have a pan like the Wilton Dimensions Tulip Pan. The bundt pan has a gorgeous tulip design that is simple, well-defined and comes out cleanly in a finished cake. The big problem I have with some other flower-themed pans is that they can go overboard with the detailing. Shapes like roses, for instance, create nooks and crannies that it can be very difficult to get oil or butter into when greasing a pan and very difficult to get cakes out of when they stick in those areas. The fairly flat design – which suits simple tulips – means that you won’t have those same types of problems with this bundt.

The 10-in. pan is made from heavy duty cast aluminum and has a nonstick surface on the interior to help give cakes a clean release. It should be useful all year round, since flowers never really go out of season. That said, tulips are often associated with Easter and a cake baked in this pan would be especially nice for a holiday brunch.

How is the coloring achieved? Is it a glaze added after baking or do you color the batter prior to baking. It’s beautiful but I can’t imagine how you get it baked in so uniformly so I’m guessing it is colored after the baking. Thanks!

That pan is too much fun! I might have to go pick that up! I’m from an area that is famous for a Tulip Festival. Thanks for sharing!

The color looks like it’s sprayed onto the cake probably using some kind of fancy tool. Probably not a pan for the novice baker right? It’s a beautiful cake though 🙂

I got my pan today via fedex. The cardboard Wilton wrap give these tips for decorating.

“Dust with confectioners’ sugar or “paint” tulip with raspberry jam and stem/leaves with green piping gel to create vivid, colorful tulips.”…..
