I often have soup in a large coffee mug when I’m eating by myself. I do it partially because I like how easy the handle makes it to hold the soup, but primarily because it’s very convenient to fill the mug up and stick it in the microwave. If I have bread or crackers with the soup, I usually stick them on a separate plate. With this very well-designed Soup and Cracker Mug, I wouldn’t have to. The mug has a compartment built onto it that is perfect for holding anything you might want to dip in your soup. Talk about convenience!
The mug isn’t limited to soup presentations, however. I can easily see this as a mug of hot chocolate accompanied by a bunch of marshmallows, or a glass of tea with some biscotti tucked neatly beside it. Coffee and a donut (or some beignets) might work for this piece, too, since the second compartment would easily catch any drips if you like to put your donut down between dips.
