How to Store Cupcake Wrappers

There is nothing worse than a cupcake wrapper that has lost its shape. Wrappers are meant to fit neatly into the cavities of muffin tins, keeping the batter from sticking to the sides of the pan and making muffins and cupcakes easy to eat after baking. When a wrapper loses its shape, the pleats around the outer edge open up and the whole wrapper spreads out. This leads to wrinkles as the wrappers are filled with batter that end up stuck inside the muffins and cupcakes you’re baking.

How to Store Cupcake Wrappers

Cupcake wrappers typically come stacked in a neat tower. Sometimes they’re packed in plastic bags, while other times they’re packed in clear plastic tubes or other shaped containers. In general, I prefer to buy wrappers that are neatly packed to ensure that my wrappers haven’t lose their shape in transit.

When I open the package, I take out the wrappers and transfer them to another container that holds all my wrappers neatly, such as a tall glass or small mason jar. These tall, narrow containers hold the wrappers neatly (which lets me see what colors/patters I have available) and only make a small footprint in my pantry. Even more important, the sides of the containers prevent the wrappers from spreading out, so they fit neatly into my muffin cups without those annoying wrinkles!

This is such a great way to store wrappers! I have always had trouble finding somewhere where I can put my wrappers where they will not get smashed, lose their shape, or where I don’t lose the ones that look the same. Great ideas, thanks for sharing.
