Tarts are a wonderful dessert option if you feel like getting a bit fancy. Tarts fall into the category of “fancy” desserts because they always look gorgeous and put together, like you spent a lot of extra time in the kitchen (even if you didn’t). I enjoy making tarts just as much as making pies, but while a slice of pie always stands on its own, I often feel like my tarts need a little something to give them additional “wow” factor. This could mean that I spend a few minutes carefully fanning fruit slices on top of a cream cheese filling or precisely piping meringue into an elegant pattern. If you want to dress up your tarts easily and make it look like you spent a lot of time on your presentation, look no further than my 5 Fancy (and Fast) Ways to Finish a Tart over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!). The post outlines a few of my favorite ways to take your tart to the next level in terms of looks and flavor. You can use these techniques on fruit tarts (like the one I used to demo the techniques in the post!), chocolate tarts, galettes or any other type of tart you can think of.
Bonus tip: If you are baking your tart filling (so, not a fresh fruit tart), you can also make up this crumble mixture and sprinkle it on before baking!!
