Everyone loves the smell of a freshly baked batch of cookies or muffins emerging from the oven. But a traditional recipe is not always what you’re looking for if you have dietary restrictions of some kind. As you can guess from the name, the recipes in this book are designed to be gluten free. In addition to that, many of them are also dairy free, oil free, refined-sugar free or vegan. They’re intended to delight people with a range if dietary restrictions, as well as those who are simply looking for healthier treats in general. The recipes are divided up into several categories and muffins dominate the book, with five chapters dedicated to them. Brownies, snack bars and cookies make up only the last two chapters. The muffins range from chocolate chip to blueberry to single-serving muffins that are “baked” in the microwave and intended for a quick-fix snack. All of the recipes are clearly written, with easy to follow instructions and recipe lists that are surprisingly straightforward, considering that all of the recipes are gluten free!
The book is illustrated with beautiful photos that will definitely inspire you to do some baking. It’s nice that the recipes, though on the healthy side of the spectrum, don’t skimp on flavor and still include some indulgent touches, such as cinnamon streusel or chocolate chips.
