Baking Bites for Craftsy: Pecan Raisin Baked Apples

In the mood for an apple dessert and don’t want to go to the trouble of baking a pie? Don’t have enough apples on hand to make a traditional apple crumble? If so, consider making baked apples instead! Baked apples are apples are stuffed with a filling that could include sweeteners, granola, dried fruit and nuts (to name just a few) and baked until they are tender. The finished product tastes like apple pie, but with none of the fuss. I’m sharing a recipe for Easy Baked Apples that are stuffed with pecans and raisins over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!!). It’s on the healthy side for comfort food, but it will definitely make you feel warm and fuzzy when you dig in.

I typically make baked apples in small batches, but there is no reason you can’t make them for a crowd. The baking time is the same whether you are baking one apple or ten and they can be prepped well ahead of time before being baked at the last minute. To dress them up, serve them warm with a scoop of yogurt or vanilla ice cream.
