Grilling season looks light it will be going strong well past Labor Day this year, thanks to a number of heat waves. When the weather is hot, I usually want to fire up my grill. Not only does standing next to a hot grill make me feel a lot cooler as soon as I move away from it (the opposite of air conditioning, but it still works!), but it means that I can cook all kinds of delicious foods without having to heat up my kitchen. Pizza just so happens to be one of those foods. Over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!), I’m sharing a recipe for great Grilled Pizza at home. It only takes a couple of minutes to cook the pizza and the high heat of the grill produces a wonderfully crisp crust time after time.
You can use your favorite pizza dough recipe for grilled pizza, or pick up some ready-made dough at your local market. I highly recommend this easy dough recipe, as it is one of my favorites and always delivers excellent results. Get creative with your toppings. I made a pepperoni pizza above, but have also piled my grilled pizzas with heirloom tomatoes, goat cheese and other goodies.
