Baking Bites for Craftsy: Easy German Chocolate Cake

German chocolate cake is named after a unique type of chocolate that was developed with baking in mind. The German’s chocolate is a dark chocolate with a higher sugar content than some other dark chocolates, which means that the chocolate has less bitterness to it but still does not contain any dairy, unlike milk chocolate. The recipe for the original cake was published in the 1950s and was such a hit that we still make it today! German chocolate cakes are usually prepared as layer cakes. While I love the look of a layer cake, I don’t always have the time to make one or a crowd big enough to justify having a massive cake in the kitchen. So, I usually prepare them as a single layer, which makes the process quick and easy. I’m sharing my recipe for this single layer Easy German Chocolate Cake over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!!), so head over and check it out so that you can give this delicious cake a try yourself.
