A good revolving cake stand can make cake decorating a lot easier. Often called a turntable, this style of cake stand is not designed for presentation, but simply to make the decorating process go more smoothly, as you don’t have to change your position as you work on the cake. Cake decorating is still a tricky business, of course, because even when your cake stand turns, you’re still faced with lots of awkward angles and it can be difficult to get your piping bag exactly where you want it to be – especially down near the bottom of the cake, where it meets the turntable.
Wilton’s Tilt-N-Turn Ultra Cake Turntable was designed around the idea that there must be a better way to decorate cakes. Not only does this turntable rotate, but the top of the turntable tilts into 18 different positions – all of which the cake stand can be “locked” into, thanks to handy push-button controls – so that you can reach every angle of the cake more easily. Being able to rotate the cake in so many different directions means that making intricate designs will be much less tiring and you’ll get your cakes decorated more quickly. The turntable has a non-slip grip on the base to ensure it stays in place, as well as a non-slip top to ensure that your cake won’t slide when the cake stand does. It is also carefully weighted to ensure that the stand will never accidentally tip over, even if you’re working on a large, heavy cake. The turntable can accommodate cakes up to 12-inches in diameter and measures 12-inches across by 7-inches high.
This stand is a huge improvement over traditional cake stands and really eliminates the need to move up and down or side to side while you work, trying to ensure that your piping is even. After adding one of these to your collection, you just might find yourself doing a lot more cake decorating.
