I was at Hallmark the other day picking up Christmas cards, and I stopped to peruse their holiday ornament selection. Over the past couple of years, the store has been adding more foodie-themed ornaments to their collection and this year they have the perfect one for bakers: a miniature stand mixer! The ornament, which is dated 2010, is bright red and has a cute retro look to it. The mixer doesn’t have an movable parts, but it’s not difficult to picture the little paddle attachment mixing up a batch of cookie dough. The ornament is called the Merry Mixer, and I picked two up while I was there, one for my Christmas tree and one to give away to a lucky reader!
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment below with your favorite food-related holiday present – one you’ve either given or received – before Thursday at 12pm PST. One winner will be chosen at random and I’ll ship the ornament out asap. Be sure to leave your e-mail address in the comment form (it won’t be visible on the site) so that I can contact the winner.
For more gift ideas, check out my 2010 Holiday Gift Guide for Bakers or pick up a copy of The Baking Bites Cookbook! And don’t forget to enter your gingerbread creations into my Holiday Gingerbread Cookie Contest, too!
Update: Comments are now closed. Thanks for playing, everyone. The winner is Erin of Erin Cooks!

December 14, 2010I have a deep and abiding love for gadgets. One of my favorite gifts was this silly little sandwich spreader. I never would have bought one. Not that it’s expensive, it just seemed like a silly little useless gadget. Turns out that I use it nearly every day. It’s a perfect little spreader!

December 14, 2010My favorite food related gifts came from the same friend. A plate of caramel macaroons, a stick of rum butter to make hot buttered rum, and a ornament for my kitchen gadget tree which is a electric range and oven that has cookies in the oven and a scent bar. This is so appropriate since she has been baking cookies with me for the past 20 years, and 2 years ago we made 160 dozen. That mixer would look great beside all my other sweet ornaments
