No matter how many recipes we search through online trying to find the perfect one, or how many food blogs we have bookmarked, there is no substitute for having a written recipe in the kitchen to work from. I’m probably not the only one who once spilled a little too close to my laptop for comfort when trying to cook from an on-screen recipe. To keep my computer safe, I tend to use a regular notepad when I’m working on recipes, but I have a big soft spot for real recipe cards. I like their size, their resilience and the tradition of handing recipes from one family member to another that is associated with them. Simply put, recipe cards give recipes a personal touch.
And if you want to put a personal touch – aside from a favorite hand-written recipe, of course – on your cards, you might want to take a look at the Personalized Recipe Cards from PosePrints. The stationary shop has a great little application that allows you to create a caricature of yourself that is printed right on the cards. Not only is it adorable, it immediately stamps any recipe as one of your “signature dishes.
