Vanilla Creme Hershey’s Kisses reviewed

kisses_vanillaHershey’s really loves their special-editition Kisses. They experiment with flavors and fillings constantly and seem to release another “limited edition” Kiss every month.

When they first started putting out filled Kisses, flavors like caramel and peanut butter were a bit hit, but no they’ve beeen releasing so many so fast (from Truffle to peppermint to coconut creme), that they all seem to be tending towards mediocre. And, unfortunately, the Vanilla Creme Hershey’s Kisses are no exception.

They’re not bad, just uninteresting. These kisses have a good balance of creme to chocolate, but the creme tastes a bit like a less-solid oreo cookie filling. It doesn’t have very much vanilla flavor, even when eaten on its own, and tastes almost too sweet when paired ith the chocolate. If Hershey’s intensified the vanilla, possibly by using real vanilla instead of artificial flavoring, it would definitely help.

It seems that the distribution for the limited edition Kisses is limited. I know that I can buy all of them but friends on the West Coast can’t get all of the flavors. I did send some of the coconut cream ones to friends. They liked the coconut cream ones. The remark was it tastes like a Mounds Bar.

Aw, what a disapointment! I saw them at the store the other day, and had to pull myself away from buying them (on a diet). I did think, that Vanilla would have been my favorite.
Over Valentine’s Day, I bought the Strawberry Cream kisses, which were a dissapointment as well. The peanut butter is definitley my favorite though!

The coconut ones weren’t too bad. I think it really helped that they used real coconut in the filling! I’m fairly sure that the “vanilla” is just artificial flavorings and fat (veg oil, palm oil, etc), not even cocoa butter.

Jenna – Peanut Butter and Caramel are my favorites so far.

I thought these were just okay, but i really loved the coconut ones. I thought they tasted like mini cadbury eggs.
