Baking Bites for Craftsy: All About Coulis

A coulis is a sauce made with fruit (or vegetables) that is strained to remove all pulp and seeds. Coulis appear frequently on restaurant menus as a way to add some additional flavor to a dessert (veggie coulis appear with structured salads and main dishes), but they are also used to make a simple dish look more elegant by enhancing the plating. Coulis add color, as well as flavor, and a vibrant and playful flourish on the plate can be the difference between a $7 dessert and a $13 dessert.
