I don’t think that you always have to start from scratch with a cookie recipe because you want to change things up with your mix-ins. It is great to change up the base recipe when you want crispier cookies, chewier cookies or another big texture change, but my recipe for All Purpose Cookie Dough, which I’m sharing over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!!), is meant to give you a consistently good cookie that will work with any mix-in you might want to through into it.
Along with the recipe, I included several suggestions for cookie variations to get you started, as this is a recipe that is intended to help you get creative with your baking  – or at least to help you to use up the odds and ends leftover in your pantry after other baking projects!  You can even divide the dough in half if you want to make multiple flavors from one batch. Apricot, lemon zest and white chocolate chip? Cranberry and pecan? Toffee bits and raisins? The options are just about endless – and they’re all delicious, too.
What do you think?
