A couple of weeks ago, I saw a video from The Best Thing I Ever Ate that was making the rounds on Facebook where Marc Murphy talked about an unusual pizza pot pie he had. The pot pie included all the usual pizza toppings, but was assembled upside down in a bowl, with the dough laid on top of the dish before baking. After a few minutes in the pizza oven to crisp up the dough, the pot pie was flipped out onto a serving plate. It sounded delicious and looked like a lot of fun to make, so I picked up some pizza dough and started to experiment. As it turns out, this is a very easy style of pizza to make and yields a dish that is a lot like a deep dish pizza, but with a crisper crust.
