Seasonal Produce Calendars

Seasonal Produce Calendars
Produce tends to be less expensive, more flavorful and more nutrient-dense when it is in season. Off season, fruits and veggies are picked at less-than-optimal ripeness levels in an effort to extend their shelf life – often because they are picked far away from where they will be sold and have a long journey to get there. It is easy to tell when fruits and vegetables are in season sometimes – strawberries in summer and pumpkin in the fall are so closely tied in with the season that you can’t forget them. But there are a lot more fruits and vegetables out there and it can be difficult to keep track of what is coming into season when.

These Seasonal Produce Calendars are a very attractive way to keep track of what’s in season – and to provide some attractive wall art for your kitchen or office at the same time. The posters come in a set of three and include fruits, vegetables and herbs. The calendars break down the year by seasons and by months, and one glance is enough to see what is in season right now (late summer: apples, figs, grapes, mango, watermelon, tomatoes, corn, bell peppers, turmeric and oregano, etc.) and what will be in season next month. It’s also interesting to see what products have long growing seasons and which have very short ones. At the bottom of each calendar is a list of some year-round products that you should be able to find any time.

The posters are printed on matte card stock and measure 11×8.5-inches. They come unframed, but would look lovely framed as a trio – or paired with richly colored photos of some of the produce that are featured on them.
