Round Cake and Pie Cooling Racks

Round Cake and Pie Cooling Racks

Most of my cooling racks are large, rectangular racks that can hold a lot of cookies, muffins or cupcakes when I’m baking. The only problem with racks like mine is that they take up a lot of space, and if I’m not baking multiple batches of baked goods, I end up losing a lot of counter space to those racks. This kind of thing does make me see the value in having a set of Round Cake and Pie Cooling Racks on hand. These round racks come in a set of three and are connected at a single point, so that when they are not in use they only take up the space of one rack and can telescope out to triple the space when you need it. The compact rack also makes for very easy storage. The racks are made of chrome plated steel and feature narrow bars that will easily support even delicate baked goods.

You can use it folded up when turning out a single cake to cool, as the 12-inch racks are very easy to maneuver and, when you have multiple baked goods working, the fact that the rack expands to triple the cooling space – without taking up much more counterspace – is very handy, especially when you’re working in a small kitchen where space is at a premium. I can see adding a rack like this to my collection for the times when I don’t need that much cooling space, but I can see it being a big boon to those who only bake on occasion and will really appreciate the telescoping effect of the racks that don’t otherwise take up much space.

I also use my round cake rakes as a steamer! I place it in a pan with a little bit of water, place a bowl or plate on top and cover to steam. That’s how my dad always did it! I didn’t even realize it was a cake cooling rack until I moved into my own place and was trying to buy one myself!

I own this cooling rack. I love it because if I need a small space I don’t expand it, or if I need a lot of space I can twist out the whole thing.
