Woman trashes bakery in “cupcake rage”

You’ve probably heard of “road rage,” the irrationally intense anger that some people experience while driving in traffic that causes them to do crazy and reckless things. Have you heard of “cupcake rage”? Most people are simple disappointed when their local bakery is out of their favorite treats. A woman in Wales, however, experienced full blown “cupcake rage” when she discovered that the local cupcake shop was out of her favorite flavor of cupcake and proceeded to attack the staff and smash up part of the shop!

The shop’s owner said:

“The woman went absolutely ballistic when she was told we didn’t have the cupcake flavour she wanted… She didn’t even wait for us to tell her that if she waited we could bake some fresh cupcakes for her. She threw herself on the floor ranting and raving while her children screamed and shouted.

“Then she came round to my side of the counter and grabbed me by the hair before I could get out of her way. I managed to tear myself free before the woman started smashing glass display units and spilling cakes all over the floor. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

The woman, who has not yet been identified, caused more than £400 ($650US) in damage to the shop. The cupcakes in question are called Sweet Tooth Fairy Cakes and are one of the shop’s best sellers. I can imagine being disappointed to see that your favorite cupcake is unavailable, but attacking the shopkeepers certainly isn’t going to get you cake any faster  – not to mention the fact that you’ll never be able to return to the bakery after that!
