I love making infused spirits at home. They’re easy to put together and they taste worlds better than similar products that you can buy at the local liquor store. Making your own infusions also means that you have a lot more options for flavor combinations than what you can find on a retail shelf. This year, for instance, I made an amazing Orange, Vanilla and Clove Vodka that makes a delicious holiday cocktail. I also made a delightful Homemade Cranberry Orange Vodka that combines two of my favorite holiday flavors: cranberries and oranges. The vodka is very lightly sweetened to help the flavors of the fresh berries and fresh oranges stand out, and the finished product is much more flavorful than any store-bought “flavored” vodka out there. It is great for entertaining and also makes a wonderful gift.
The recipe for the Cranberry Orange Vodka is over on the Craftsy Blog (it’s free!), so be sure to check it out. It only takes a few minutes to put together a batch and you only need to wait a day or two before you can use it. That means you can make some tonight and enjoy some amazing cocktails for Christmas or New Year’s!
