Boomerang Wok

When you watch cooking shows on TV or see chefs working in the kitchen, you will probably notice that they have a few more trick up their sleeves than the average home cook. While many skills can be developed through practice, like better knife skills, some just look so easy that it’s impossible to resist giving them a try right off the bat. One of these is the trick of flipping food in a skillet or frying pan, where with a flick of the wrist, you can toss meat, veggies, eggs and just about anything else around to cook evenly on all sides. If you’ve ever tried this, you’ve probably also encountered the cleanup that results after an unsuccessful flip (I know I have!).

Dilligent practice will help you master this technique, but a Boomerang Wok will help you to nail it down much more quickly. This neat, nonstick pan has a curled edge that keeps food inside, even if your pan-flicking skills aren’t yet up to par. It is also useful for stir-frying big batches of food, where pieces of meat or veggies might slip over the side of a regular pan as you cook them (although they probably slipped out after an innocent pan flick went awry). The pan is a bit pricy, but it’s definitely a fun kitchen tool to play with and, since it is nonstick, it is easy to work with and easy to clean.
