All pie fans should be making turnovers on a regular basis. They’re quicker to make than full sized pies and they’re a lot of fun to eat. I like to experiment with the fillings in my turnovers because the small size of the dessert makes them the perfect place to test out new pie fillings, but classic fillings are always a hit, too. IF you want to keep your pies classic, you can find the recipe for my Apple Pie Turnovers over on the Craftsy blog (it’s free!!). They’re easy to make and even easier to eat, with the perfect combination of buttery pastry crust and tender, spiced apple filling. At a party, you can simply set these out on the dessert table and let people grab-and-go with no need for forks or plates. They’re an excellent choice for a picnic or other outdoor party. If you prefer your apple pie a la mode, however, you can still plate these up alongside a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
