  • A good streusel topping can make any muffin even more delicious and these Lemon Crumb Muffins from Baked by Rachel are no exception. The fluffy muffins are made with a generous amount of lemon zest, which gives them a bright citrus flavor, and are topped with a buttery streusel that contrasts with the soft crumb of the muffin. To further enhance the citrus, each one is finished with a drizzle of lemon glaze before serving.
  • Strawberries are just coming into season and it is never too early to start showcasing them in strawberry desserts. Tutti Dolce‘s Strawberry Crostada is a beautiful example of how strawberries can be showcased in a simple dessert. The crostada filling is made primarily with fresh strawberries, to which strawberry preserves are added to give the filling some extra sweetness and to help bind all those strawberries together. The berries are piled into a buttery pastry crust that is casually shaped on a baking sheet, rather than in a tart pan. The baked dessert is almost too stunning to eat, thanks to those jewel-like berries, but when served with honey whipped cream, it’s more difficult to stop eating than to start.
  • You’ll find a twist on classic s’mores with Cake-n-Knife‘s Raspberry S’mores Bars. The bars start out with a graham cracker crust that is topped with a rich layer of chocolate and raspberry ganache. The ganache is flavored with fresh raspberry puree, so you really get to taste the sweet-tart flavor of the berries right alongside all the chocolate. The bars are topped with a layer of mini marsahmallows and quickly toasted in the oven. Since this filling is so intense, these bars should be served in small slices.
  • Recipe Throwback: It’s hard to go wrong with a batch of homemade cupcakes and, for chocolate-lovers, these Chocolate Cupcakes with Milk Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting are an excellent option. The soft cupcakes are loaded with deep chocolate flavor, accented with a hint of coffee. They’re topped with a rich chocolate frosting that uses milk chocolate and sour cream that not only has an outstanding flavor, but a velvety texture that might make it a new favorite.

What a great list of summer-inspired treats. Now the difficult part. . .choosing which one to make first. 😉
