Magimix Vision Toaster
I love a good piece of toast in the morning. It’s simple, but versatile, so you can enjoy a slice of cinnamon sugar-topped toast or a savory Avocado Toast. I could eat toast just about every day, so my toasters get a lot of use. I say “toasters” because I have had many toasters in my life, and most of them have been pretty lousy. Most of them seem to toast very unevenly or aren’t large enough to accommodate the things I want to toast, such as big slices of artisanal bread (although even slices of sandwich bread from the market are sometimes too long or too tall for toasters and you need to flip them over part-way through toasting). I accepted these as small inconveniences that I just had to deal with if I wanted toast – but there were better toasting options out there that I simply hadn’t explored yet, and after using the Magimix Vision Toaster, I doubt I’ll go back.

This toaster is one of the sleekest-looking toasters I’ve ever seen, and it is definitely one of the coolest to use. It is the only toaster with clear sides that allow you to monitor your toast while it is toasting. This gives you complete control over how toasted your bread gets, since you can adjust as you go, and it also casts a funky red glow over your kitchen counter that – honestly – is pretty neat to watch.

Magimix Vision Toaster settings

The toaster has several different settings. From right to left, the controls give you options for regular toast, bagels, reheat and defrost, as well as a darkness dial with a quick stop button. The slot on top of the toaster is extra long and very wide, so just about any toastable bread product will fit inside easily. The toaster has four different heating elements to ensure an even toast, and I found that it toasts quickly and fairly evenly (much more evenly than my previous toaster) every time. Even after running the toaster repeatedly, the toast level was consistent – unlike some other toasters I’ve had, which seem to simply get hotter and hotter.

Freshly Toasted Toast

The toaster is quite long, measuring 15 1/2-in. x 8-in. x 7-in. Fortunately, it is relatively narrow and can easily be pushed back against a wall to free up counterspace when it is not in use. I also love the way it looks and don’t mind keeping it out on my counter. The only problem is that I like the red color so much – it also comes in black and cream  - that I may have to consider getting a different colored stand mixer to coordinate!
