Zoku Ice Cream Bowl

The Zoku Quick Pop Maker is a neat gadget that allows you to make popsicles in minutes, rather than hours. You do need to freeze the base in advance, but you can enjoy popsicles almost immediately when you get a craving. The Zoku Ice Cream Bowl is an new innovation from the same company that allows you to make ice cream just as quickly as those popsicles. The bowl works in much the same way as a canister ice cream maker, where a canister is frozen in advance and used to chill an ice cream base quickly. In this case, the bowl itself is frozen and a single-serving amount of ice cream base can be poured in and stirred until it firms up to the consistency of soft ice cream. It takes only a couple of minutes to make your ice cream, which is a bit faster than most countertop models can churn up a batch, and you can add in mix-ins very easily as you go. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and takes up very little space in the kitchen or in your freezer.
The downside is that this bowl is designed to make single servings and only has a 6-oz capacity. This makes it a great choice when you want to meet your own ice cream cravings, but less-than-ideal if you want to make ice cream for a crowd. If you find you usually want a bigger batch of ice cream, you’ll probably want to opt for a larger ice cream maker. If you primarily want to make ice cream for yourself, this could be the perfect addition to your kitchen arsenal.
