How to Make Frozen Yogurt Cookbook Release and Giveaway! (Closed)

How to Make Frozen Yogurt Cookbook Release and Giveaway!

This week marks the official release of my latest cookbook, How to Make Frozen Yogurt. The book is part of Storey’s Basics series and it is designed to give you a solid grounding in homemade frozen yogurt technique because there is more to making great frozen yogurt than just putting regular yogurt into the freezer.  Making your own frozen yogurt gives you complete control over the ingredients you use and all the flavors you can work with – and you’re not going to get charged extra for loading up your bowl with toppings when it is time to enjoy your finished product!

You will get the best results with homemade frozen yogurt, like homemade ice cream, if you have an ice cream maker at home. So to celebrate the release of the book, I’m going to give away a new Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker! This is one of several ice cream machines that I have and it’s a fantastic small appliance to have if you want to make your own frozen desserts. In addition to the ice cream maker, I’ll be giving away a few additional copies of my book, as well. One winner will receive a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker and a copy of my new cookbook, How to Make Frozen Yogurt. Two additional readers will receive copies of the book. All of the winners will be randomly selected.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this post stating your favorite frozen yogurt flavor. Do you like plain, tart yogurt, or do you prefer to opt for the more unusual flavors that fro-yo shops tend to offer? Do you load your yogurt up with diced fruit or load it down with a ladle-full of hot fudge sauce to turn it into a sundae?  The contest ends  at midnight on Saturday, March 22nd and the winners will be randomly selected from the entries after the contest closes. Don’t forget to fill in your e-mail on the comment form (it will not be made public), as that is how I will contact the winner, and good luck!

Update: This contest is now closed. Congrats to Sandy and Karissa, who both won copies of the book, and Joanie, who took home the big prize! Thanks to everyone for participating!

Strawberry is my favorite frozen yogurt, but also like vanilla! Not too sweet, not too tart makes it better than ice cream.

At yogurt shops, I go with a simple flavor so i can maximize the toppings. At home, I like to make fruit flavors with whatever is in season. Especially when it’s fresh strawberry time!

Depends on my mood. Usually something a little tart and fairly neutral so I can load up on the toppings.

It may be boring, but I like plain chocolate…if I’m feeling a bit on the wild side, coconut with a chocolate sauce 🙂

Do all of your recipes in the book use Greek yogurt?

    Congrats on the book!

Tracy – I find that Greek or greek-style yogurts give frozen yogurt the best consistency since they have less water (and that means fewer ice crystals) than regular yogurt. I have guides for working with regular yogurt and a recipe for homemade yogurt in the book, as well.
