Williams Sonoma Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Williams-Sonoma Halloween Cupcake Toppers
Halloween is one of the most fun holidays to decorate for. The decorations can be silly or spooky, as simple as placing a few candy corn on top of a cupcake or as elaborate as baking a cake in the shape of a skull. I am always on the lookout for new ways to add a little excitement to my Halloween decorations and these Williams Sonoma Halloween Cupcake Toppers caught my eye when I saw them being demoed in a store last weekend. The toppers are sheets of thin, edible sugar paper that have a giant eyeball printed on them in edible ink. You bake and frost your cupcakes as usual, smoothing the frosting on the top to be relatively flat. Then, place the edible paper right on top and within a few minutes that paper will have adhered to the frosting and you’ll have a scary eyeball cupcake staring back at your! The transfers come in a set of 12, which is enough for a batch of cupcakes for a party, and there are four different colored eyeball designs inside for variety.

You could also use the transfers on a larger cake, pairing up the eyeballs by color to give the feel that you’re being watched – at least, you’re being watched until you slice up the cake and serve it to all your Halloween party guests.

I would love to serve this up to kids at Halloween. Could you imagine them coming home going, “Mommy she gave me an eyeball for a treat..”

Hope the police don’t get involved..
