The Cookiepedia is a cookbook that is dedicated to cookies of all kinds, from homey Everything But The Kitchen Sink Cookies to fancy French Macarons. You might think from the name that this book is an encyclopedic tome, huge and heavy with almost too many cookie recipes to try – but you’d be wrong. The book is actually a friendly spiral-bound volume that gives you a good sampling of a number of different cookie categories, leaving you with a set of recipes that has just enough variety to satisfy any cookie craving.
The friendly tone of the book is evident right from the beginning, as the introduction walks you through cookie baking basics in much the same way that a close friend would. Hand-drawn illustrations and tips that appear in comic-style speech bubbles further enhance the cute factor. The recipes are sorted into chapters by flavor and type: Buttery Cookies, Chocolaty Cookies, Fancy Cookies, Fruity Cookies, Spicy Cookies and Nutty & Seedy Cookies. The instructions have the same easy going tone that the intro does and are very clearly written, with detailed directions that are easy to follow.
