America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook giveaway!

ATK Healthy Family Cookbook

I’ve been enjoying my copy of The America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen, but I don’t want to keep it all to myself – so I’m giving away a copy! To make things even sweeter, this book has been signed by Chris Kimball! I wish I could say that I had one for everyone, but I have only one copy to give away to a lucky reader. To read a full review of the book, check out this post.

To enter the contest, leave a comment with your favorite America’s Test Kitchen recipe – whether it was from Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country or one of their many cookbooks – below. If you can’t choose just one, you can always try making the Everyday Cinnamon Rolls, which just might be an instant favorite as a lighter, healthier version of gooey cinnamon rolls! The contest ends tonight at midnight and the winner will be randomly selected from the entries. Don’t forget to fill in your e-mail on the comment form (it will not be public), as that is how I will contact the winner, and good luck!

Update: Comments are closed. Thanks for participating, everyone! Congrats to Debby of A Feast for the Eyes, who was chosen as the winner!

  10. My favorite recipe is “St. Louis-Style Pizza.” I love how easy the crust is to make. It is like a crispy cracker. I can get dinner on the table in half an hour with this recipe!

  11. I haven’t made them yet, but I really want to make the cinnamon rolls this weekend; I know they will be a favorite.

The best thing we have gotten from America’s Test kitchen isn’t so much a recipe, but rather a method for grilling steak. We watched an episode where they pre-warmed the steaks in an oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes, then grill them to medium-rare. It makes the juiciest steaks every time!

  12. The cinnamon roll recipe sounds delicious!

  13. I really want to try their Chocolate Blackout Cake recipe

  14. The tunnel of fudge cake! It’s to die for!

  15. We make Braised Cod Peperonata (a variation of Braised Cod Provcal) in the America’s Test Kitchen Family Cookbook about 2 to 3 times a month. It’s so delicious, simple and healthy. We typically serve over quinoa and sometimes add calamata olives.

  16. I loved pretty much everything I have made from their recipes… It is so hard to say what my favorite was. But we LOVED Yule Log Cake from Baking Illustrated book!

  17. I love the waffle recipe its light and crispy and makes me wonder how I survived on bisquik all my life!

  18. I’ve made the slab apple pie for a crowd at least six times and it’s perfect every time. This recipe is the bomb!

  22. I love their choc chip cookies!

  23. I like their crumbcake muffins from Baking Illustrated.

  24. My family loves using our America’s Test Kitchen Family Cookbook! Just last night we had the Skillet Tuna Noodle casserole. One pan, fast, and creamy without the cream of whatever soup (yuck!). It doesn’t get better than that. I can’t wait to try their healthy recipies!

  25. My absolutely positively favorite recipe has to be their Blueberry Boy Bait! I saw it on PBS and had to make it – I even bought ATK’s Lost Recipes cookbook just for that recipe (ok, that and the Phantom Stew – yum!).

  26. I haven’t tried any of their recipes yet, but Chocolate Blackout Cake that Chrissy mentioned sounds amazing!

  27. There are so many good ones! But a definite favorite is their chewy chocolate chip cookies.

  28. I love their chocolate chip cookies!

  29. I love many recipes but the one that I have made the most to perfect results each time is the Spanish Tortilla. So tasty and filling but different from the typical weekend omlet! Delicious!!

  30. I haven’t tried any of their recipes, but I did just bookmark the light cheesecake recipe you posted!

  31. I have several, Blueberry Pie, The Ultimate Banana Bread and Chocolate Chip Cookies. I have The Complete America’s Test Kitchen TV Shows Cookbook and love it!!!

  32. Lazy Daisy Cake! So good yet so easy!

  33. There are so many great ATK recipes that I can’t really pick a single favorite. One we’ve been enjoying a lot lately is the Foolproof Thin-Crust Pizza recipe from the latest issue (December2010/January 2011). It really does make for a fantastic pizza crust. Their Best Blueberry Muffins recipe from May/June 2009 is also a real winner… easily the best blueberry muffins I’ve ever had.

  34. Cook’s Illustrated brownies, for sure!

  35. Red Velvet Cake from the Baking book. You can’t go wrong.

  36. Cooik’s Illustrated Brined Turkey Breast and Chocolate Chip Cookie recipes are THE BEST!

  38. I’m sad to say that I haven’t tried any of their recipes, but I would love to! :)

  39. Their Cream Cheese Coffee Cake looks amazing. I haven’t made it yet, but I’m sure its a favorite already!

  40. My favorite was the Blueberry Pie recipe from “The Complete America’s Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook”. It was the PERFECT Blueberry Pie!

  41. I love one of the brownie recipes from a Cook’s Illustrated. I think it’s the Chewy Brownie recipe that is supposed to have just the right amount of chew and not be too fudgy. It calls for extra chocolate to bump up the chocolate flavor and a little bit of baking powder. It’s really a great recipe, so good that one day my daughter wanted to use it to impress a new boyfriend that is now her husband! I wonder if the brownies had anything to do with that!

  42. mmmm….guinness beef stew! would love to try the cheesecake recipe too.

  43. Chocolate Pots de Creme – amazingly easy, and super elegant.

  44. I use the American Sandwich Bread on a daily basis! And I love their cream biscuits, how easy they go from freezer to oven.

  45. The blueberry muffins are the best!

  46. In their family cookbook – the one that looks like this healthy one, but has a red cover – is the BEST recipe for a baked clam dip. It’s really delicious and very easy to make.

  47. Their chocolate chip cookie are the best!

  48. I use my regular America’s Test Kitchen cookbook at least weekly. I have so MANY favorite recipes it would be difficult to name just one — so I will name the one I made last night — Cream of Tomato soup!

  49. Their chewy brownies recipe is my favorite. I saved the cinnamon rolls recipe you posted the other day to make when I visit my dad, since he loves cinnamon rolls and I prefer my sweet treats to be on the healthier side.

  50. My kids are hummus crazy. Thanks for sharing.
