Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan

One of the most popular upside down cakes out there is a pineapple upside down cake. Even though you can use apples, berries and other fruits easily, pineapple is a classic because it develops a rich, caramel flavor as it bakes. All you need to bake an upside down cake is a regular cake pan, but since pineapple is popular, there are a variety of pans specifically designed for them. Large pineapple pans have rings that pineapple slices will neatly fit in to. But the Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan pictured above trumps that because not only does it have a ring just the right size for a round of pineapple, but each cavity is pineapple shaped, complete with leaves on top. This means that every cake you bake will look just like a little pineapple.
The cavities on this pan are a little bit bigger than your typical muffin pan, and while I would still use a muffin pan for other small upside down cakes, pineapple will fit better into this pan shape and you won’t have to trim it down to try and squeeze all the fruit into each bup before baking.
