Tim Tams in the US!

Tim Tams in the US

Tim Tams are known as “Australia’s Favorite Cookie,”  and for good reason. These little cookies are nothing short of amazing. The building blocks are simple: a chocolate mousse filling is sandwiched between two chocolate wafer cookies and the whole thing is dunked in a thin layer of chocolate. It’s a fantastic combination of rich, crispy and creamy – especially when you do the Tim Tam Slam and dunk the cookies into a cup of hot coffee.

The cookies are produced by Arnott’s in Australia, a company owned by the Campbell Soup Company. Campbell’s also owns the Pepperidge Farm brand in the US and has decided to release Tim Tams here – officially, not just as an import – for the first time! The Pepperidge Farms Tim Tams come in two varieties so far: Chocolate Creme (the original flavor) and Caramel. Both are outstanding and taste just like the Australian cookies. I’m thrilled to be able to have regular access to Tim Tams at the market and hope that Pepperidge Farms adds some of the other flavors I’ve enjoyed in Tim Tams to theie line, like mint chocolate, chocolate-chili and chocolate-orange.

Oh, choc-chilli are to-die-for delicious! I can’t quite get into ruining a perfectly good bikkie in a cup of coffee, though… enjoy!

I LOVE these cookies – thanks for the heads up! I usually am able to get them at a local Australian shop in San Francisco, but it will be so nice not to pay the markup and not to have to make a special trip.

I saw them and heard about them first on Oprah when Hugh Jackman got some for Oprah and the whole audience and it sounded intriguing. Now i get to try and i am going to get one today itself. I have to feed my inner chocoholic and keep it happy.

Actually, none of other flavours you listed (mint chocolate, chocolate-chili and chocolate-orange) are regular flavours here in Australia. There have been quite a few limited edition flavours over the years – Tia Maria, Hazelnut, Black Forest to name a few.

The regular line permanent flavours are: original, chewy caramel, dark, latte and double coat.

They also currently have on the market the Tim Tam Crush, if I recall the name correctly, with chopped nuts or honeycomb. And some stores still carry some of the Love Potions line with a liquid center. They also do a limited editon Pink Wish (strawberry) for Breast Cancer awareness in October.

Chinalilly – Sorry if it seemed like I was implying that those were regular flavors. I know they were/are limited editions and was just mentioning them because I really liked them. I also mentioned them because US snack companies *love* to release limited edition flavors, and they’re all ones I’d like to see again.

The Tim Tam Crush sounds delicious, by the way. Thanks for mentioning it!!

    YIPPIEEEEE
I am an Aussie who misses her Tim Tams living over here in the US, and paying the Cost Plus prices just hurts…

Hope they bring out some of the love potions flavors here too – Chocolate Mud and Sticky Toffee are the best!!!!

Nicole – you made my day/week/year!

I love Tim Tams, my stepdad is from Canberra and on his last trip home he brought back the chocolate mud and Pink (strawberry) ones for me, all the way to N.Ireland. The chocolate mud ones were pure heaven. Unfortunately we can’t get them over here too easily although I’ve heard they are in some supermarkets. They are best if you bite a little of two opposite corners and suck either coffee of tea through them….divine!

I talked with the Pepperidge Farm guy at the commissary today and he said that Target is the only one that’s carrying them and that he heard it’s only for a few months. Stock up, People!

    (I LOVE your blog)

Kay is right. If you check out the Pepperidge Farm Tim-Tam website, it says “Available for a limited time only at Target”.

What a tease! I’ll have to make a Target run this weekend to try this coveted treat.

WOW Had my first Tim Tam last night. YUMMY. Here’s how I was taught to eat it. Bite off BOTH ends. Dip in HOT CHOCOLATE and SUCK up the hot chocolate like a straw. Then toss in your mouth quickly. Melts in your mouth. Great product.

I took a trip to Australia this summer and got so hooked on TIm Tams, and I can’t find them anywhere here! I’ve looked everywhere for the Pepperidge Farms kind, but haven’t been able to find any. 🙁
