  • If you’re a fan of s’mores and love the warm chocolate-marshmallow combination of the treat, the S’mores Bread Pudding from Culinary Concoctions is definitely going to be appealing. The bread pudding is made with a chocolate bread, adding loads of chocolate flavor to the whole dish, and is topped off with crushed graham crackers, chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
  • Apple cider is one of my favorite fall flavors. After trying a Caramel Apple Cider at a coffee shop, however, the plain drink has got some serious competition. SugarPunk seems to agree that apple cider and caramel is a good combination and made some Apple Cider Caramels. The chocolate-dipped treats start with an apple cider reduction, and SugarPunk provides lots of good tips to help your caramel-making turn out successfully.
  • Baking Obsession is getting a head start on Christmas cooking making this year, given that it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet. The cookies sound delicious: Coconut and White Chocolate Windmills. The shape of each is a pretty windmill, with a dollop of a cream cheese, coconut and white chocolate mixture in the center – almost like a bite of cheesecake surrounded by cookie.
  • Pecan pie isn’t hard to make, but if you don’t want to go to the trouble of baking a traditional pie crust from scratch, Texas Pecan Pie from Half-Baked Baker might be a good alternative. The bars have a shortbread base that comes together in no time at all and a gooey-crunchy pecan pie topping. Unlike pie, which requires a knife and fork, these bars are portable and great for serving to a crowd.
  • For a quick and easy chocolate fix, be sure to check out the Chocolate Toffee Wedges from Slow Like Honey. The wedges are easy to make and come out to be richly chocolaty, but with a sturdiness that makes them easier to handle than a regular brownie. The real selling point here is the inclusion of toffee bits in the mix before baking. They add a great salty-sweet flavor that makes these wedges dangerously addictive.
  • Whipped posted a great variation on classic banana bread with Banana Macadamia Nut Muffins. The base for the muffins is pretty much a standard banana bread, but the roasted mac nuts that are added give the muffins a wonderfully buttery flavor, a nice crunch and a hint of something tropical – and that last bit is something that is wonderful to feel in the middle of a cold winter. For a little something extra, try drizzling these with melted white chocolate before serving.
