Cake Stand with Nonslip Pad

Cake Stand with Nonslip PadCake stands can be slippery. This isn’t a bad thing when you only use cake stands for serving, but when a cake stand is used as a cake decorating table, it can make putting the frosting on very difficult since the cake might move around a bit. Obviously, it wouldn’t be a good thing if the cake slid right off the stand, either. The traditional method for getting a cake to stick to the stand is to put a dollop of frosting down in the center of the plate. The frosting acts like glue and holds the cake in place. This method is effective, but a bit messy and isn’t idea if you’re planning to move the cake (via a cake lifter, for instance) from a decorating table to a more decorative stand.

This Cake Stand with Nonslip Pad solves the problem neatly. The stand is specifically intended to be a decorating table and has a revolving aluminum top to make it easier to reach all sides of the cake. The top has a nonstick pad that prevents the cake from moving without trying to use frosting as a glue, and the base of the stand is made of cast iron for very sturdy support. It can, of course, be used for serving as well and is quite a bit more attractive than some stands sold only has decorating tables.

  1. I have this cake stand and find it ideal for decorating–just be warned that it’s a little heavy to lift around.
