Diamond encrusted saucepan

Posted on

£100,000 potYou don’t have to spend a lot of money to get good, quality cookware that will perform well time and time again (I know I don’t). But if you want to spend a lot – and I mean a lot – than the new diamond encrusted potfrom the German cookware maker, Fissler, just might be what you’re looking for. Their newest premium saucepan uses almost 1 kg (2.2 pounds) of solid gold on the handles and logo plate, and is studded with over 200 individual diamonds.

Each one – and yes, there will be more than one available – will be meticulously handcrafted in Germany and will be priced at £100,000 (approx. $198,350). They will be sold at Harrods, in the UK, from Sept 10th to Oct 20th.

No word yet on whether this saucepan will be the first of a series of gold and diamond cookware but, beauty aside, I shudder to think of what an entire collection might cost.

I’m imagining you can’t just shove your diamond pan in the dishwasher – what use is that then?! 😉

I imagine anyone buying these pans isn’t using them themselves, and will probably never even see them. I guess it’s for people who REALLY love their kitchen staff, and more especially so they can tell their friends about their cookware. I wonder how many schools you could open in a third world country for the price of a set of those pans!!

    Hi,
Is this saucepan a show piece. May be it can be awarded as a prize in some cookery contest. Or auctioned to fund a noble cause.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

What a ridiculous waste of time, attention, cookware, and quite frankly, diamonds.
